For me there is no better way to relax and feel a sense of accomplishment than to open an art box and start painting. I usually work small scale and digitally, but I thought I would challenge myself this weekend and buy a couple of stretched canvases. I've decided to paint Monument Valley, Utah. It's one of the places I most look forward to visiting on my travels, and I can't wait to get onto the back of a horse and wander around this landscape.
So far I have blocked out the base colours in acrylic. I will add details soon! :)
Absolutely amazing progress, and I cannot think of a better subject matter. I will return to monument valley one day, such a sight. Sunset/sunrise at monument valley is truly something special and in my opinion one of the best places to visit in America due to its eery beauty. Definitly post the finished result of the painintg :)
ReplyDeleteAwh thank you! It's definitely a challenge for me to try fine art. Especially landscapes...I'm alright with figure drawing but not so much stuff like this. I'm really enjoying it and will aim to have it done this weekend (currently ill with a cold and tired from work in general!) :(
