More card doodles, trying to nail the style. I think I'm getting there, I think a healthy mix of fineliner, watercolour and pro markers with some photoshop touch-ups is the way to go!
These are drawn using B pencils and watercolours/watercolour pencils. I bought a set of Letraset markers which I'm hoping will make them look more dynamic. Can't wait to get stuck into it after work tomorrow.
I've been commissioned to do a series of greetings cards for various occasions; Weddings, Christmas etc. I'm having so much fun experimenting with characters and media at the moment. As soon as I've settled on a style and the type of media I'll be using (the above is watercolour and pencil) then I'll put them into situations relevant to the theme. The client is looking for a fun, cartoony style. Expect to see lots more as I progress!
This character was part of a design for a short animated story I put together a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I didn't finish the animation as I decided the illustration path was more my thing, but you can see some of the WIP animation if you look through backdated entries on this blog.
